    For all of you lowlanders...

Or as we say in Colorado, flatlanders, start tuning up your skis. We woke up to about 1.5-2 inches of snow here in the foothills so you know the ski areas are getting it good. AND it is still coming down. A nice wet, gentle snow with the temp right around freezing.

You just know that ozone is getting his skis ready and checking Aspen for when they are opening

My you have a good, snowy and well-touristed ski season out there!

I've not had the pleasure of being out in the Rockies in the winter time...only the summer...but it was really exhilarating. I was there for a family reunion held in Winter Park and my two brothers and I were the only ones who didn't have any problem with the altitude...we spent the whole week telling the rest of the family what a bunch of wimps they were as they kept asking us to slow down so they could catch their breath.

Anyway, as I said, hope that it's one of those winters where it snow just enough to make the sport good but not so much that you get inconvenienced. It's actually pretty exciting looking forward to winter...and I'm just in Chicago!

Now you're talking Grag. I used to go XC when I first came to Canada, Unfortunatly the amount of snow we get over the course of winter has been getting less and less over the last 3 decades. Maybe I should pick up some skis and head north a bit. Hey SOKS anyone for kilted skiing?

Well, it looks like it finally has stopped. Been snowing lightly almost all day. I can finally see most of the ridges out towards the east side of town. Hard to tell, it's been melting all day, but it looks like we got about 6 inches. And tomorrow is supposed to be in the high 50's.

This snow you talk about...what is it?

Is it like the cold stuff...I think they call it ice...that I put in my rum and coke?

88 degrees...warm and sunny here. Still wearing my flip flops and tee shirts.

Snow is a four letter word in my world. I have to work in it. Dont have time to play in it. If the supreme being had wanted me to ski, he would have made my feet four feet longer. I just can't get into the idea of snow. I wouldn't mind if it stayed 65 degreees (F) until spring. In Maryland, of course.
