One Year of X-Kilts; chime in!
I wrote the Original X-Kilt instructions during July 2006, and posted the current "semi-final" instructions on November 8th. Anyway, there's been X-Kilt instructions up there for the world to see for just about a year. My last casual account suggests that about 60 X-Kilts have been made, that I know of.
First of all....to all you guys and gals who have downloaded and sewn them up...and especially to Tartan Hiker and the F-H.C.A.G who have been just as much on-line "Help" to new X-Kilt makers as I have, THANK YOU. I never thought that nearly this many of you would take on making an X-Kilt.
Let's do a current X-Kilt count. If you've made an X-Kilt or two or three or six, chime in here and let us all know.
Alan H...I've made 5 of them (two more in the works, but just gleams in my eye, yet)

Excellent, Fluter! I want to see pics of the second one when it's done!
A quick review of the "Post Your Pics" forum back to March, just searching for titles that contained the word "X-Kilt" reveals the following...
37 X-Kilts made by, in no particular order...
Alan H, fluter, FHCAG, Tartan Hiker, Raven USA Razbarry, DWMoffat, alhrensblade, Rackhound, ScottEPooh, Blazn, Adam, off-kilter, gerald_G, Moosedog, Rx-Rex, BeeDee, Yeti, Jim H, Doomsday, Kilt2def, Papi Moffat...and that doesn't include a number of others that I know are arout there like Mowgli and keepoffgrass's kilts.
37 X-Kilts in 8 months! Not bad for a casual knock-off project!

I've made four, including one for a tuba player in a marching band (complete with custom tuba mouthpiece holder,) more on the boards.

That makes 40!
several hours later, whilst waiting for Networking Services to restore gigabit ethernet to the server room....
Actually, further perusal of the X-Marks archives brings me up to 52 X-Kilts (Ian, Thomsec, Doc, Perldog, JWesco and I know I'm missing at least 2-3 more) , with two more on the table from Irishman and Lady Griffin.

I've made a practice one, a "real" one, and am going to start on one for a friend as soon as my fingers recover from 6' of hand-stitched waistband
