I haven't been to the opera in many years. This piece sounds like a nice excuse to experience it again.

That just reminds me that my very first opera was "The Ballad of Baby Doe" (about Baby Doe Tabor) when I was the tender age of 18. Loved opera ever since.

That Looney Tunes episode actually uses material from two different operas, both by Richard Wagner.
The “Kill the Wabbit!” tune is “The Ride of the Valkyries” from the opera “”Die Walküre” the second opera of the “Das Ring des Nibelungen”. aka the Ring Cycle, NOT to be mistaken for J. R. R. Tolkien’s trilogy

The second melody (the love song with Bugs in drag) is the “Pilgrims’ Chorus from “Tannhäuser”.

I believe Bugs Bunny also sang along to Rossini's The Barber of Seville (Il barbiere di Siviglia) and Mozart's The Marriage of Figaro (Le nozze di Figaro, ossia la folle giornata) (both based on a series of plays written by Pierre Beaumarchais about the life of Figaro: Le Barbier de Séville, Le Mariage de Figaro, and La Mère coupable).
