My boys (4 & 2) alyays wear something. biies for the four year old, and diapers for the two year old, for the same reasons F-HCAG mentioned.

At my recent wedding, the ring boys wore kilts, and both of their mothers informed me that the chidren were not going to be regimental. And I thanked both mothers for their forethought -- both kids accidently flashed what was under their kilt durring the service, and I'm glad their was no real embarassement.

black Lycra / spandex type biking shorts, of the same sort worn when doing highland games or highland dancing, are what I sometimes wear if i'm worried about being around little kids or whatnot. Works great & still comfortable.
