Great photos - looks like a wonderful adventure! I wonder if Bodyglide needs an endorsement? I can see it on the label now... XMarks Approved!

I had suspected that it was that tartan. Thanks for confirming it. I guess I was surprised at a Scotsman wearing it, but it is a really nice one.

Great pictures...The country-side looks great in the fall...Autumn is my favorite time of year...What kind of shoes are you wearing...They look like Merrells...If you're short on time, Gibson's makes a great 12 year old whiskey and now are offering Gibson's New Oak (aged in oak) now on the market.

That's if you like Canadian Whiskey

I love the Grayson Highlands. Of course the last time I was there it was springtime and the melting snow made for some good mudslogging. Did you see any wild ponies?

Andrew -- funny you should mention the ponies. One tried to take a bite out of my sporran, but I was a wee bit too nimble for him, and got away before any damage was done! Unfortunately, Mark wasn't quick enough w/ the camera to catch this on film. Coulda made "America's Funniest Home Videos".

Galician - Good point, and interesting. My ancestors came from Loch Fyne to Co. Antrim, Ireland in the 1500s. Our branch came to the states in 1648, after having spent about a century in Ireland. Antrim is thick w/ McKnights to this day, while there are very few in Argyll. I love Irish pubs, Irish music, Irish ale, (red headed girls!), etc. and in my heart, there's a great brotherhood between Scotland and Ireland. The same Celtic stock runs thru both countries, and both share(d) a similar, ahem, relationship with Mother England. And, the list goes on. So, you're right! And, this is one of my favourite topics - I could go on for hours, but i'll stop...

Chase -- the boots are Vasque Sundowners, circa 1995 with about 39 coats of mink oil rubbed in...

Excellent pics; lovely scenery; you must be surefooted by the way you clung to the rock in the fourth pic.

Wow! Great pics. I've never been to that area to hike but it looks like I definitely need to get up there.
