			Michigan Pipers

Hey, there...Any of you guys (or gals) who are pipers and live in lower Michigan interested in hooking up with a new non-competition band? We are in definite need of pipers!
We practice in Goodrich, MI, which is in Southern Genesee County, quite close to both Oakland County and Lapeer County.
We'll take drummers, too...thus far, we have six drummers and 1 and a half pipers (1 is a student).
Come on, you know you want to join us...we're great people!
We describe our band as follows:

A new pipes and drums band is forming in the Genesee/Lapeer/Oakland County area in Michigan. This is NOT a competition band, but, rather is a band for people interested in enjoying the pipe band experience, bringing enjoyment to our listeners, honoring our heritage, and promoting appreciation of Scottish and Irish history, culture, and arts. If you are a former competitor, a pipes or drums hobbyist, have Scottish and/or Irish blood in your veins, or just have an interest, give us a call or drop us a line! We are at the beginnings of formation, if you'd like to come along for the ride, we'd love to have you!

P.S. I forgot to mention that we'd also be interested in possibly hiring a well-seasoned piper to be our band instructor.

I'm a drummer who is slowly learning pipes (I'm still on the practice chanter)...so, I list myself as a drummer (I don't even consider myself to be a "student piper", as I am not yet up on the pipes). Drums are really my first love, but I'm still trying to learn pipes.

I understand that you season the pipe bag to seal it and keep it pliable. But what do you use to season the piper?

That is why I'm coming along in the realm of pipes very slowly...I stick to Diet Coke!
