How Many X-Marks tartan kilts?
who has one, or has the material to make one, and a gleam in their eye?
Counting the second run, which had to be re-done because it was damaged, there's been a total of 60 yards of double-width X-marks tartan woven (I think...izzat right, Steve?) If half of the kilts that were made from that were 4-yarders which need 2 yards of double-width cloth) , and half were 8 yarders (which need 4 yards of double-width cloth), then that would mean that roughly 20 X-Marks tartan kilts have been made, or are under construction.
Here's a quick list of guys that I know have one...
Me..I have a six-yard knife pleat I made from the first run
Steve Ashton, of course!
Panache's is under construction at way2fractious's house
way2fractious, made by himself at Elsie's Kilt Workshop
Tartan Hiker has yardage for one, 2+ yards
I have yardage for another one, 2+ yards
Moosedog has yardage 2+yards...whatcha gonna make, Moosedog?
Cameron Taylor has one (made by Steve)
Kiltedcodewarrior has one (where are you these days, KCW?)
Riverkilt has a Kathy Lare
O'Neille has made a beauty from the damaged-selvedge stuff
McMurdo has a 5 yard from CCK
efer has a Tewksbury! woooooooooooo
andyfg made himself a nice box-pleat
starbkjrus also has a box-pleat, I htink from Matt
possingk has one of the few USAKilts X-Marks kilts
Blu also has a Tewksbury! someday I'm gonna have my very own Tewksbury!
Robin has a Tewks, too!
Davedove has one from Kathy Lare
Inaki ALSO has a USA Kilts X-marks! I dinnae remember that 'till I searched!
Wompet, I think you might have a box-pleat from Matt Newsome
And Hamish, but of course!!!
And that's everybody I know about and that a quick forum search revealed. 22 X-marks tartan kilts have been made, or a gleam in someone's eye. Wait, there's a gentleman here from Scotland who also has one, but I forget who it is. He posted pics a while ago! 23 kilts?
Who did I miss?
Matt, did you ever make one for yourself? If so, I want to see pics! Rocky? MacHummel?

Here's a rare sight...three X-Marks tartan kilts, all together. I'm hoping that there will be FIVE of them at the 2008 Nor Cal Burns Night supper!

And if...IF there are five X-Marks tartan kilts at the NorCal Burns night, every one will be different.
6 yard knife-pleat to no stripe, 8 yard knife pleat to the yellow stripe, 8 yard to the sett, 8 yard military box pleat, and 4 yard box pleat. THAT would be fun!

I also have the material for a 9 yarder from Kathy Lare when I return from India.
With the advent of 'Delhi Belly' and other maladies, I am shrinking away.....
"A veteran, whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve, is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life." That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it." anon

I have the cloth (from the "damaged" stuff.... though I lucked out and got some with no damage from what I see) for a box pleat. I'm trying to pull the money together to get it sewn up.
