$2M deal for Royal Scots Dragoon Pipers
NPR launched recently a new multimedia website all about music that features interviews, profiles, studio sessions, concerts, reviews and such in all kinds of genres. Since I apparently live in some sort of a bunker, where radio reception is very poor, I've been spending a lot of time surfing here.
This weekend they added a story about a new recording by the Royal Scots Dragoon pipers. Visit http://www.npr.org/templates/story/s...oryId=16197024 and click "LISTEN NOW."
Regards,
Rex.

Thanks Rex.
That was a a very interesting piece, I can not wait for the CD to be released I will be looking for it at the end of the month. Listening to their rendition of Amazing Grace gave me goosebumps.

Yes, thanks. I was surprised how moving it (Amazing Grace) was.

If you follow some of the links in the NPR web page, you can find more information about the recording, and this cool photo:

Don't forget, the RSDragoons Pipes and Drums are touring the US (along with the band of the Coldstream Guards) during January/February 2008.
The tradition continues!

Do you have a schedule for them? That would be great to see/hear if they are going to be in Colorado.

I saw the Dragoons with the welsh guard when they came to Asheville a few years ago. If you can see it go by all means. Unbelieavable show!

I don't usually listen to NPR, but that was fantastic. I can't wait for the CD to be released. Not only was Amazing Grace good, but The Dark Island is fast becoming one of my favorites. I downloaded The Black Watch Pipes and Drums CD "The Dark Island" from iTunes. The best $9.99 I ever spent!!!
