    I'm right-handed, but as I developed my box-pleating technique I always approached my pleat-sewing with the pleat edge facing right. I naturally turned this one the same way, laying on the table with the waist towards me so I didn't have the entire kilt in my lap.. The only adjustment to the usual construction is that the reverse pleat is now on the left side of the over apron rather than on the right side of the under apron. So far it seems to work fine.

    Also, I've often been curious about how much easier it would be to slide into a car seat with the pleats turned this way...regular pleats tend to open up as I get into the car.

    Of course, in the UK this isn't a problem...

    A scientifically controlled test will certainly follow, fully documented here for the illumination of the rabble.
