Captain, I'ts about 30 miles / 50 klicks from the airport to Burlington. You take the 427 South from the aiport to the QEW (Queen Elizabeth Way) towards Hamilton. The QEW will be BUSY but at least its not rush hour.

Pearson airport is another matter. The terminal is in greater Toronto but the gates are somewhere in The Prairies. You have to walk AND take shuttles for what seems like days. It'll take longer to get your luggage and rental car than it will to drive to the pub.

    You guys have fun.

We now have the 407 which is an electronic toll road. That isn't usually isn't packed (because we can't afford it) and will take you right into Burlington (hop onto QEW Niagara for two minutes and exit at North Shore Blvd. You're now less than three km from Emma's and in a straight line.

Wow, when did that open? The last time we drove up we crossed the border at Buffalo at 4:30 on a Friday. You can imagine the nightmare of the QEW and the Gardiner all the way to downtown TO. Is there a ferry across the lake?

    Sorry for the thread hijack.

That section has been open for about 7-8 years. There was a ferry (hrydrofoil I believe) that went from Toronto to Rochcester N.Y. it lasted a season, two at the most.
