I believe it was in his book "So You Are Going to Wear The Kilt" that Thompson said the best thing about wearing a kilt was the many conversations that it started. Almost all of the comments I've received over the years have been favorable or well intentioned although there are always butt-heads. I think folks really want to comment but don't know quite what to say. The kilt has a fairly good presence here in New Hampshire although we don't see much daily wear. I don't wear my good kilt because it is without doubt the most expensive garment I will ever own and I don't want to ruin it, however, now that I know about all the low price options, things are about to change. I think hiking will be the first arena for me.
