I think it's a great idea! It'd have to be a city with a major international airhub (Washington, DC? NYC? Toronto?) for the folks flying in (including from overseas).
A schedule like a class re-union weekend would work great: a casual "ice breaker" Friday evening at some local Celtic pub, and a dressier dinner-dance Saturday night with music. Saturday day could be for shopping, sight-seeing, kilt-making workshops, golf, whatever.
But, again like a class re-union, this would take a cadre of volunteers in and around the target city to organize the whole affair...!

Las Vegas, Nevada may offer less expensive air fares and plenty of housing. And its drivable for "ME" and the rabble in Southern California. Thought there was a good turnout of X Marks at the Las Vegas games this year...

Wow. This would be a logistical nightmare. With that being said I voted for Toronto - Grant could organize it.

OK, I admit I voted for DC because it's reasonably nearby & is served by three major airports: BWI, Dulles, & National. It's also not quite as expensive as LA, SF, or NY, but the DC gov't will probably try to make up for that by summer; bleeding tourists is politically easier than stopping thieving employees.
But please don't look to me for planning or management. All I'm capable of is camping out at one airport & directing arrivals to baggage claim & ground transport.

Sign me up. Last year there were only about a half dozen of us in Las Vegas.
