My girlfriend and I are having problems choosing a name for our impending arrival.

I have 2 boys already Andrew & Ruairidh.

Would anyone like to make a suggestion??

Well, let's see, David is probably the best boy's name out there.

I have always been partial to Colin There is a shortage of Hamish and Angus around, but Alasdair is also a great name.

If my daughter had been a boy she would have been Angus after my great grandfater, my great great grandfather, etc,etc.

My son still calls her Angus when he wants to piss her off.

Here are a few others we had as boys options:

Liam, Lennox, Merrick, Fergus, Donovan, Sileas, Loughlin, Aidan (way too many around here), Duncan (brother in law beat us by 6 months), and my wife liked Finlay.

I've always been partial to Malcolm. Not only do I just like the name, you can say the kid's named after the kings of Scotland (if, you know, you're Scottish and want to make that their namesake).

Don't go with Grant! we named my Alexander Eric Falcon, he goes by Alec. My daughter Taylor Meagan Peregrine. She goes by Tay or Tater. We gave them cool names because they're stuck with Harmsworth as a family name (sorry kids).

Falcon & Peregrine was a nod to my grandfather who in Victorian fashion had a bird name (Peacock, and I wasn't gonna name my son that ) and also for my childhood hero Robert Falcon Scott (the second man to the south pole - actually forth).

We didn't want to fall into the trap of dating our spawn by there names. Might've missed that mark with Taylor though. There's three Britneys 2 Chelseas and a Shelby in her class.

The way that the Romanian couples at my church decided on names was they picked from the saints who were celebrated on that day.

For example, a baby born today, if girl, could be Barbara or Juliana; if a boy, Alexander or John.
