The SWK Weathered Lamont is a variant on the Lamont tartan, it has only half the sett of the Lamont tartan. Hence the 1/2 descriptor.

Yes, as Panache says, my Lamont has half the set. This is ok with me because I'm only interested in the pastel and earthy colors it has, but I don't want anyone snapping at me about how it's not a true Lamont tartan. Also, the tweed shoes are made from what looks to be very heavy twill weave fabric on a rubber bottum. I've heard people call them Vans.[QUOTE=Oldhiker;457364]Ted, what is this lamont tartan you refer to? QUOTE]

I could go with a white shirt and brown wool tie. That brown shirt is one step down from that, but has a nice look to it with a collar and a few buttons. I hope polo shirt is the right word for that. I guess I should take both shirts and both sporrans, te he.

Guess I could take my brown belt. It's kind of on the casual side, and I think I would put the leather sporran with that. On the other hand, I'm not a very formal looking kind of guy because I have long hair that I usually put in a ponytail. That can always go in my collar though.

Go with something casual. - I would wear a belt.... only because I think it completes the kilt.

Of course back in my pant days, I always wore a belt with everything also. Maybe it's a security thing with me.

    Wink

Oh dear, the tweed shoes came from a store in a mall. I wish I could remember, but they are called Castros and come in a box that looks a little like a cigar box. They're not reall formal, but just look very nice with kakhi pants and so on. I don't know if they are reall wool, but it feels like it. Looking at them, they are built a little like those DYI moccasins, no laces, and they have a regular bottem with no raised heel. I don't know that much about how shoes are made.[QUOTE=TheKiltedWonder;457473]Ted, where did you find those tweed shoes?? I love the idea of them! I've jst never seen any before.

Ponytails and long hair are traditional if you think about it.]

Thanks everybody for your input. It looks like I will take both a formal shirt and tie as well as the less formal brown shirt. I'll take the bunny sporran and the leather sporran, and throw a belt in there too. It could go any which way and that should cover it. I'll plan on the ponytail either way, te he.

Hi Oldhiker, I'm very sorry, I don't have any way to do pictures yet. Panache has posted pictures of the same SWK kilt. Although I think Panache has a little different style in accessories than I would go with. Hope some day to be able to provide pictures for you all.

** I just got the picture up there, LOL! Quite a bit late too.

    bunny sporran?

Is that like the trucker model or the kid's one?

    Sort of serious question.
