First Wool Kilt: British Columbia Tartan

- The feel of that 16oz worsted wool... whole different league than the acrylics. I'm definitely a convert (although, the acrylics are perfect pub wear!). Much finer weave, far more luxurious feel.
- Custom made to my measurements. Fit FAR better than I expected... combined with the feel of the wool... almost orgasmic! (I said ALMOST... don't wanna soil the thing!)

And here you have stated the reasons why so many of us will say, "If you can swing it, make your first kilt a tank." I blew a lot of money on casual, contemporary, and lesser quality kilts first, thinking I was working my way into something, only to find that, well, I blew a lot of money on casual, contemporary*, and lesser quality kilts once I got my first made-to-measure tank. It is like wearing a work of art. So now I'm saving my pocket change for more kilts with no pockets.

(*But different strokes for different folks: if I didn't have the contemporary ones, I'd probably pine for them, too.)

You look great, by the way. And while I, too, prefer the lay-down collar with black tie, I like how you mixed up your wing-collar with the long tie.
