i'm quite amazed how much the people from the USA are into tartan, i think it's more than here 
i don't own a kilt, my dad has one, Macbeth, i think.
i was at a wedding in august & hired a kilt, a Gordon dress, to me, i thought it was one of the best looking kilts there. My grandfather fought with them during WWW1, makes it extra special.
i've just found out, that my surname has connections to the Angus district tartan, how, i do not know. i can also wear the fraser through my mothers side.
but it's good to read on this forum, that you wear what you like
