    SWK Weather Lamont

Trying to decide whether to invest in SWK's version of the weather Lamont Kilt. I tried to arouse a discusion with them in the matter, but seem to have failed.

The good things, they offer it for $110 in wool.

The bad things, can't find the same weathered design anywhere else, it's only half a sett, and it is only 13 oz wool.

I'd hate to purchase a Lamont kilt that is not a traditional tartan. After purchasing Matt's box pleat in Ancient Lamont, I guess I'm a bit spoiled.

The SWK weathered Lamont is listed as supplies limited if I am not mistaken, they might not have your size.

I refer to mine as a Lamont variant, a variation of the Lamont tartan. To me it is worth owning solely on its own merit as it is a subtle, earthy, and very handsome tartan. One cavat, the straps that came with it are thinner than the very thick ones that came on my SWK Heavyweight solid black and solid green kilts.

From talking with Jerry I do not believe he is going to do another run of this tartan so if he has your size in stock I would buy it now.

    Cheers

Moved so that the traditional kilt section is kept for the heavy duty hand made or machine made versions.

If the kilt is in limited supply, I would jump on it. The pics people have put up of the weathered lamont are great.

The Weathered Lamont or variation thereof is a good looking tartan. I have seen a kilt made of this tartan, it looks great.

Unfortunately, I must confess they probably do have my size.

    Jamie,

I do like your photos - probably one of the reasons I remain intersted in that kilt.

I like the colors very much. Guess I'm just trying to decide if I'd buying a tartan or a plaid.

I have looked at those several times and would like to have one of them. They have my waist size, but they are about three inches too long for me.

Sorry, really thought I had the right forum. I guess this confirms that the kilt in question is not traditional. It is still a nice looking kilt though.
