Looks grand Jay. Though I haven't posted yet, I also received a new kilt for Christmas, in the same tartan, LGLUW 16. Pics and review in a day or two.

    Gentlemen,
Glad you like it, especially Jay.

The kilt was sent back to me to reduce the taper on the front and back aprons. No problem, there is a 100% satisfaction guarentee on my kilts.

I didn't want Jay to have to remove almost twice as much basting. So I had removed two rows of basting before sending it out. It was mailed to Jay, to me, and then back to Jay for the final fit check before removing anymore basting. It looks like the basting held the pleats together.

    Cheers,
    Wallace Catanach

That's a Beautiful job, Wally. James, it's clear you made a good choice in kiltmakers.

Go Wally!!! This makes me enormously proud. That's exactly what the book was intended to accomplish!

The taper is a tough thing to take a guess at. Kiltmakers do an "average" taper, but it isn't always right for everyone. So, the fact that the taper wasn't quite perfect the first time shouldn't be taken as a blunder. The fact that he was willing to take it back and make it perfect says a lot about his commitment to excellence!

You have it right Barb! Wally was and is a fine gentleman! I do not think it was a mistake at all. Just one of those things that happens when you can't have a personal, in person, fitting. We both learned something. I hope you get a chance to see Wally's work soon. It will make you even more proud of him.

    Looking very smart indeed.

    A very well built kilt.

Great looking kilt James. Just one question. Is that a bra sneaking its way into some of those pictures? Trying to spice them up? ;-)
