One of the most wonderful things about this board is that we can share our experiences - positive and not so positive. Thanks for telling us about what happened. Doesn't help things for you much but you can keep others of us from making uniformed decisions.
As pointed out, the assasination troubles just began last week. Perhaps that did delay your finally ready kilt shipment...
There is a big difference between dealing with a kiltmaker and dealing with someone who orders up kilts from another country.
You can have any two of price, quality, or service.

Thanks Bradley, I've ordered my MacPherson tonight from USAKilts, and thankfully was able to get the semi-trad with some extra cash from Christmas. Perhaps FC can send me a different tartan or something so that this isn't a complete waste.

Pakistani products can be absolutely first class-- getting them can be a problem. Muslim religious holidays can slow things down, as can the push by a supplier to satisfy a "bigger" customer. The difficulty of the Pakistani Post Office, as well as problems getting things out via DHL or FedX only compound the problem. Personality is another issue. If the supplier's boss doesn't like your country (this week) shipments will suffer. So I can sympathize with FC being caught in the middle.
If everything you (and others who have posted on this site) say is true about FC, what I can't sympathize with is its shoddy treatment of their customers. Reputation is harder to come by than customers, and any businessman should know that. Especially a businessman dealing in a price sensitive niche market.
You need a kilt in less than four months. Man up, ask for your money back, and deal with someone else. As far as asking them to send you a different tartan or "something"--- maybe you should remember the old saying: "once bitten, twice shy".

I didn't think about that. There's been Ramadan, Eid, and what not all since you ordered your kilt. It doesn't make the huge wait acceptable, per se, just something to keep in mind.

Which I could have...of course I wasn't told any of this until today. I think that may be their biggest problem, the lack of communication with their customers.

I understand how challenging starting a business can be...but I'm not comfortable attributing the "customer service" I got from FC to unrest in Pakistan.

I was unaware our email was down.. i have been getting emails. call mark b if you want to switch tartans 612-812-5458
Night hawk..
if all you have read are bad stories about us then you must not have been selective reading the post here...
---
as i have said MANY time... we have always either delivered or refunded money... nobody will ever say (truthfully) we ripped them off....
whenever i see somebody write--"I was thinking about buying from them but....." it always reminds me of military discussions.... when you mention you were a Marine (and i served fro 12 years) people either say "I thought about joining" or "My dad/uncle/aunt was a Marine"... like that makes them part of the GUN CLUB...
We have a good selection of products, we have our inventory posted online (Since November), and we carry a wide variety of tartans... and the majority of folks...again most likely 98% get what they order within a few days
we have thought about carrying nothing but Black Watch kilts and maybe 2 kinds of sporrans... be very easy to stock and would never ever be slow shipping.... of course repeat customers would be few and far between
as I have also said many times.. there are some of you that will never buy from us.. there are some of you that have and will buy 9 kilts from us... thats business... some people believe it or not will not shop at walmart.
God Bless and have a great day

Sorry, I should be clear. I wasn't trying to make excuses for the poor customer service. I was simply stating that the political situation in the likely place of manufacture is such that delays in manufacture probably are common. It's been pretty intense there for months now. However the fact that these delays were not communicated to a customer who had already paid the bill is inexcusable.

As to my comments before, I really do intend or hope that this works out for the good and benifit of all involved: the countries, companies and individuals. Kind of like harm to none... (Comment Removed)

He's the one that brought up Santeria.
I took it to the mall for a walk. The security people didn't find it in the least bit amusing. Of course, maybe if it wasn't a headless roasting chicken, they may have been a little less upset. It actually took me some effort to get a leash on it , having no neck to work with! Some people just don't appreciate the effort one has to go to create poultry in motion...
