This seems the perfect occasion to once again point out the Uniformalwearhouse.
http://www.uniformalwearhouse.com
Look at their plain black vests. http://www.uniformalwearhouse.com/apages/servests1.html
Their Black, full-back service vest ($17.95) can be spruced up with pewter celtic buttons off of ebay. Also, look at Unformalwearhouse's dress shirts at $11
(http://www.uniformalwearhouse.com/ap...rts_index.html)
and cuff link/studs sets..$4
http://www.uniformalwearhouse.com/ap...edojewel1.html
solid solor satin (not glossy) bow ties...$2
http://www.uniformalwearhouse.com/ap...cces50col.html
And you've got something. Total cost for the groomsmen, assuming they have black lace-up dress shoes? See below
Stillwater Standard kilt $85
Stillwaters black kilt belt $21
black vest, uniformalwearhouse $18
formal white shirt, lay down or wing collar $11
studs and cufflinks $4
solid color bow tie $2
budget kilt hose, Stillwater $12
Stillwater flashes $6
Frugal Corner semi-dress sporran $40
TOTAL, for a very "budget" but still very nice looking package that nobody but *Serious* kilt police will ever notice is not the $600 getup.... $200, $220 if you throw in kilt pins.
for the groom, swop out the service vest for a single button Eton jacket in black with the backless three button service vest and you have a very nice, darned good-looking kilt ensemble for about $40 more than that.
