    When I started this thread, I said I didn't know if I should laugh or cry. I think I will do both. I will laugh because the dogs do look funny, and I will cry because, I too, think that it is a shame to try to make pets into humans. They come closer to being human all on their own; they don't need our help.

    As I was thinking about this, I realized that I should mention that there are times when you have to put something on the dog.

    Some of you might remember Skippy, the walk-on dog that we ended up keeping.



    This is the first LITTLE dog that I've ever had and when you take him out in the cold he gets cold FAST...very little mass there. I bought him a navy blue commando sweater at Target...no foolin'...they had dog commando sweaters.

    What I forgot was that I got a navy blue commando sweater from LL Bean (and I recommend those sweaters as being reasonably priced and really warm). So, of course, my wife said, "Oh...is this some kind of father/son fashion statement?" And I had to swear that I totally forgot that I had the matching people sweater.

    But we do look sooooooo cuuuuute together...
