Sporran Knife in Carved Moose Antler Celtic Dove design
My first folding knife creation. I had made the celtic dove pewter pin and thought it would make nice knife scales on a small sporran knife. So I did it in moose antler with brass liners and a small 1.75" blade. It's a friction folder so it's legal for the U.K. and it lines up nicely.
Here are the rough scales and blade.

The antler is all stabilized, sealed and finished with CA from the woodworking shop. I learned a folding knife is a lot more work than a fixed blade. I'm gong to see if I can make one in mahogany next. I'm enjoying doing a little carving again.

Kresent - I have one question. You don't own a TV -do you? You never vegg out in front of the boob tube, right?
I mean, you are always working on something! Amazing work!
You are setting the bar so high for everyone, that we will set a new name for superlative work. Kresent quality!

I do have T.V. but only one channel. I turned off the satellite about 4 years ago when I was working on my doctorate and decided I didn't miss it. It all starts with an idea, a drawing and materials list, sourcing materials, and execution. Paper is really cheap and most of my projects go better if I do a drawing first. Believe me you don't want to see those, yuck!

I'm really learning a lot from your posts. I think DIY is the best part of any hobby/avocation/interest/obsession/whatever. Thanks.
When I was in school having trouble with the calculus, my electrical engineer father made a huge poster and put it over my desk. It read "PAPER IS CHEAP!"
Calc started to get easier.

Sweet little folder there, O'Neille. I have yet to tackle one of those.

Don't do it. It makes your little fingers sore as heck. Putting them together and taking them apart until you get it just right. That being said, I'm working on two more at the moment. I could make three fixed blades in the same amount of time.
