Might it be possible that if kilts are presented “in your face” in an ordinary (not specialty or costume or tourist or ethnic) retail setting, and as just another clothing choice, then men would buy them? And women would buy them for men?
But, will the men wear them? And where and when and how often?
Might they then seek out a higher grade of material and fit and tailoring for subsequent kilts?
Granted that this appears to have been a holiday novelty presentation, but I wonder if a good response might prompt retailers to stock kilts year round?
