First kilt I ever owned was a well worn Black Watch from a thrift shop, of which I do not appear to have any pics. Once I decided I liked wearing a kilt and would wear it more often I donated it back to the same thrift shop and had a new Black Watch kilt made to measure, just in time for Le Jumelage in 1993, our town's annual twinning event.

Here I am at Melrose Abbey with my opposite number, Jean-Andre Vandelannoote, Greffier of Bailleul in Northern France, resplendent in that first bespoke kilt, in September 1993. As you will see I had yet to acquire an Argyle jacket and a belt. The kilt eventually went to the USA early in 2006, via the x-marks kilt adoption agency as it no longer fitted me. Hopefully some one out there still wears it.
