Well I have had some of the Duncan of Sketraw tartan woven into a wool scarf for me and the wife and have ordered enough tartan from Lochcarron's of Scotland to weave into a kilt and make a pair of troose. I will post the image of the worsted tartan when it arrives.

John-- those should be smashing trews. I've had a couple of sets made over the years in MacMillan Hunting (mod colours) and will probably have another set cut later in the year by Stewart Christie down in Edinburgh. I haven't tried them, but I understand that Costello down in Ilford (N. London) are also first class; they made the uniform for Gairoch (Sp?) Pursuivant (Countess of Mar's private herald) and it is excellent. --Scott

My Territorial Designation 'of Sketraw' is recognised by the Lord Lyon and yes I own the lands 'of Sketraw'.

A good article on Territorial Designations written By Stuart Morris of Balgonie and Eddergoll, yr. Can be found by Clicking Here and will tell you about this particular type of Scottish Title.

It was Brian Wilton who designed my Tartan and I had to show proof of my right to the Territorial Designation before he would record it as Duncan of Sketraw.
