Kilt nights in Omaha Nebraska
These are just a couple of pictures I took while I was in Omaha Nebraska this 4-day weekend. Please feel free to critique my selection of hose, sporran, hose flashes, or anything else that might make me a better ambassador to the kilted community.
I only had two kilts with me; I am awaiting my USA kilt, so I could only wear my two Stillwater kilts.

Very nice. Only suggestion is to dump the chain and get a leather sporran strap... You're gonna see a big difference with your USA kilt when it arrives. And I'm sure you saw the difference between what you have and the hand sewn kilts at the gig you attended...do begin to save up. And remember some kiltmakers only require half down, balance on completion so you can be saving up while he fabric is coming in and you're waiting your turn.
You wear the kilt well. You'll shine even brighter with a hand sewn.

"I'll have a kilt please, a nice hand sewn tartan, 16 ounce Strome. Oh, and a sporran on the side, with a strap please."

Looks fine. But I want to repeat what Ron said about the chain. He speaks the truth! Dump the chain and get a plain leather strap. You'll like it better!

Oops, I wore a Black Stewart Tartan Thrifty-Kilt.
Oops, I wore a Black Stewart Tartan Thrifty-Kilt.
I felt great both nights and was complimented several times, not one negative comment.
The first night I wore an economy sporran, not enough room, too hard to close the snap. The second night I wore a black rabbit sporran, much easier to close, but you are right a leather sporran strap would feel better.
I don’t really care for my Velcro kilt belt either, as it makes the buckle protrude out further on one side, future purchases.

Mighty nice. I too would say get a leather strap instead of chain.
