Don't get it often, and I also prefer Vegemite (and I know it really torques Aussies if you pronounce it like it rhymes with Yosemite).

I'm a Kiwi, we're raised on Marmite! And it tastes much better than that Australian stuff Vegemuck.

I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

Ahhh! Vegemite!
Hi folks!
As an Aussie, I have to say I prefer vegemite over marmite. A slice of freshly toasted bread, butter, and a thin spread of vegemite is really good (and good for you).... and it excels as a remedy for "the morning after a night of slightly too much guiness(sp?)"!
After all, it is derived from the residues left from making beer, so -in a round-about way, it's kind of like a "hair of the dog that bit you"...only on toast!
The problem is that technically, vegemite cannot be imported into the USA at the moment. Something about some difficulty defining whether it falls under the jurisdiction of TFA (Tobacco, Firearms and Alcohol) or whether it should be defined as a foodstuff. All I know is that when I moved over to the 'States in November, I was advised not to pack any vegemite in my cases as it was a "banned substance".
Good thing I'm not a heavy drinker, huh? ;)
cheers

Alright... I won't get any vegemite. I think I'll get some marmalade too... But I won't eat it with the marmite...

I've not tried either as of yet. I will say though that there isn't really a ban on vegemite. http://www.snopes.com/food/warnings/Vegemite.asp

I'll get some peanut butter too... The chunky, the smooth, and the old style... Looks like I'm out of honey also.
I want to get some giant oatmeal cookies, but I don't think marmite would go well with those. I'll find something else to put it on.
