And I sure do wish folks would follow the rules at them Ren Faires. Was a dang fool rulebreaker wearing a Utilikilt workman's that activated my kilt addiction! Never thought of kilts, even when at highland games. Then I saw my first UK and it made so much sense I siddled up to him and got the name of the thing off the logo on his tail end.
Went home and googled it up...now I own me 15 Utilikilts...and a whole lot more kilts...have bought 56 so far but sold some off I outgrew and need to sell off some of them UKs I've outgrew. But my life sure would be simpler and I'd have a lot more money and a lot less wool things if that fool woulda stayed home or wore him a tartan kilt so I wouldn't have noticed his "Scottish Jeans."
I normally hate rules and love the edge of the envelope...but that one time...if that guy had just stayed home...or if I had just stayed home...I'd have a lot more closet space...but I'm guessing the kilt market would be a lot flatter now too.

56 kilts... what do you do in your spare time?
I think kilts can fit into a Ren Fair if they do it properly, not Braveheart style...

Back on topic - When Monkey@Arms were walking around the Queen Mary Games we were remarking on the same thing. Just being members of the X-Marks clan has made us more knowledgeable that the average Jock or Angus. We prided ourselves in picking out the odd sportkilt or badly worn acrylic. It was also very easy to spot those individuals that were plainly very comfortable in the highland dress and those that seemed almost to be embarassed walking around in a skirt.

In this picture the lady's undergarments are clearly shown!

Exactly right! Post the pics of said lady without underwear!
I think that's what Jamie is getting at, but I could be wrong.

Great, now when I see people on Saturday they'll be looking at me thinking "Oh he's just being a snob and overly critiquing the way I dress." when odd's are that I'll probably be the worst dressed out there. LOL! I should have just kept my mouth shut.

Haha, Arlen explained this to me when I was visiting him in Scotland. I like to think I wore the kilt well while I was there, and we both even got complimented a few times!

As one who HAS paraded down (well, actually up, but let me not quibble) 5th Avenue wearing a handsewn kilt, please accept my thanks for your contribution to this.
