You may or not be aware of it,but we had an in-famous clan feud right here in Kentucky and West Virginia between the Hatfields and McCoys.
The Hatfield-McCoy feud ran off and on for nearly 30 years.

Google it.You'll find it interesting reading.

While this may have been an intentionally spiteful attempt at a joke by these particular Campbells, I don't believe that an entire clan, as a whole, can be bad. I've met a few Campbells at various games, and some of them were pretty decent people.

I know I'm not the first Henderson to pipe up in this thread about our clan, but I've always been frustrated by the fact that most historians exclude the presence of clan Henderson (MacKendrick) from the story of Glencoe.
I was at the Pleasanton games last Sept 2007. The MacIntyres were piped by myself to the Campbell tent to offer a ceremonial snowball, which was the annual rent for the lands our Chief had to forfeit for some unsavory murders committed against the Campbells. In return, I insisted on a dram of whisky from the Campbells to avoid a curse that follows for not paying the piper his due. It was all done in good fun...and, I got my dram without trouble.
