Make sure you ask Robert for a swatch that is finished as he sends out th ekilt. If he puts on some kind of protective coating or finish, that can make a difference in the appearance.

The only protective coating on Robert's personal kilt is ladies greasy fingerprints. My leather kilt will no doubt rot quite quickly .

Okay. Will await the swatch.

Ron, how about a Pride of Scotland in the meantime? Noticeably purple and a nice bridge until you've got the Rkilt made up.

Thanks Arlen,
Have been using my USA Kilts Warrior Casual. But it doesn't match my agency issued purple polo or Lewis purple kilt hose.
Last time at an agency function wore my Isle of Skye with purple hose, that worked.
And, there's some purple in my Scotland's National USA Kilts Casual but I haven't tried that yet.
I'm just worried that if my daughter finds out I'm considering purchasing a purple leather kilt she might be able to successfully take out commitment papers on me....while at the same time coveting the beauty of the kilt and the strength of appearance of a leather kilt...
Ain't nothin' gonna happen until I sell off the kilts I "outgrew" to be able to afford the leather. And there are few who are my size. And from there they must have both interest and a few bucks. So we'll see.
If I hadn't outgrown the UK White/Natural vegan workman's coulda dyed it purple...

The last eggplant leather RKilt I saw was not quite as dark as the one in Robert's pictures - but the difference is so small that it's probably just be the difference between seeing outdoors in person, and seeing it on my monitor.

Actually, I think your choice of Isle of Skye is nearly unbeatable. I mean, you'll find few objections to IOS in this crowd!

I dunno, Ron: don't know about the shirt, but it can be made to go, if you have sufficient purple attitude; actually the purple stripe in the Warrior is a near match for my Lewis hose, but the black stripe makes the whole kilt seem darker. Here is my "purple attitude" for school colors:

Why not? They make it out of saffron too.

Do you even own pants anymore?
Riverkilt, I'm still new to the site but I've been reading a lot on here. I am just curious... do you even own any pants any more?
From the sounds of it you have more kilts then I have skirts, pants, and shorts combined.
There has been some question as to where the hem line should fall. I read recently a Scottish woman who was complaining that American men wear thier kilts too long. That they don't show there bonnie (or boney) knees. So I was just curious where do you prefer your kilts to come down to?
