And of course MacMedic tartan would be an option. Think Matt made this one up for MacDougall.

If you didn't want it when the wedding was over I'm sure it would sell well to a paramedic.

I had toyed with the idea of a Menzies tartan. The MacMedic one would be a good choice too. The other wall I keep running up against is actually buying the kilt, I had initially planned on getting a very formal kilt. My current one is one of the heavyweights from SWK, which didn't really hurt my bank account. I think instead of getting an actually full blown expensive kilt, I'll go with another one like the one I have. I don't think I'd be able to sell it though, I'm a terrible pack rat
I want to thank all you guys for the advice and information. I still need to put up some pictures of me in my first kilt. I'll be getting around to that sometime.

The Tartan ferret gives two samples for the category of Danish personal tartans. Both look a lot like the Doyle one!

Cost isn't really an object, it's more that I want to spend a lot of money on the kilt, but not on a tartan that someone else wants me to wear because it matches their wedding's color scheme.

re
I wish I could buy a danish tartan as well. I saw two websites that had pictures of the pattern but never found anywhere I could even get the material.

That Danish tartan is beautiful. I think my husband (last name Gronlund) has eyed that before. I'd wear a sash of that tartan if he got a kilt in it.
