Success!
Okay, I too have now successfully uploaded. My first mistake was not to have the uploading photo in JPEG format, it was in ALL.
The second is the size of photo, keeping it below 500 pixels. I upgraded my digital so alot of 800 pixels won't upload. The photos with my previous camera had fewer pixels and will upload. I have now configured my new digital to the 300 pixel mode.

I say Rex, what a smashing outfit! Really suits you right down to the ground. An absolute picture of Tartan Perfection, if you ask me. (hint, hint )
Seriously-- relaxed casual at it's best.

I'm patiently happy. Two main reasons - first, I live in the boonies with dial up and some of the huge pixel pics that are posted just flat eat up my rig. A long wait while they load. So, if the pics are gonna be smaller and load faster I'm happy happy happy.
Second, from poking around it looks like we may be able to upload from our computer again. Galleries are fine, but that's where I put my "best" pics. Sometimes I need a not so good pic to illustrate something and have had to upload it to a gallery to post on X Marks. If direct upload from the computer is back Hallalueya or however you spell great joy.
And thanks for all the techie work by the mods...your volunteerism is most appreciated.

So far I have been able to upload a picture from my computer to the X Marks photo gallery, Ron. I know how to post a link to where the gallery picture is. For example,
http://www.xmarksthescot.com/photoplog/index.php?n=51
But I haven't figured out what I need to do to get that picture in this post. I'm guessing there is a way, but I will need to be told how...
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…
Yes, I have squirrels in my brain…

TED,
Sign up with photobucket. You can then upload photos from your computer to photobucket. Once uploaded, the photobucket photo can be copied on a menu below it called IMG Code. When you copy it, a message flashes copied. Then just paste using your mouse on the Xmarks post. When you click on submit reply on your xmarks message the photo is displayed in the new XMarks post message.
GOOD LUCK!

I guess we are not able to use the pictures we upload to the new photo gallery in threads. Thanks.

Ok all, I need your visual help. I need to know if you are seeing the picture in this post. I have used it's address from the "view original" option in the new photo gallery.
I got the picture to work, so it doesn't need to be here anymore. I removed it.

Whatever you did it worked. Just don't tell Sylvana's husband I'm looking again...
