Once again, my lonely wife and I were pleased to host our "Drink Up and Dine" St. Pats Dinner party. Our good friends Ruth and Bill joined us again and new friends Ian and Gerlinde made the trek from Burnaby.
Shelly set a wonderful table that was soon filled with corned beef and cabbage, tatties and neeps, cheddar and dill beer bread and no end of appropriate bevvies.
Ian is an ex-piper and entertained us before dinner.
Ian also surprised me with a gift of a set of pipes. He told me they were made about 1938 and someone had given them to him. We only met a few months ago but he says he felt a kinship with me and thought it was time for him to pass them on. Here we try a duet.
Yes, they are a toy version but they really are from 1938 and they do play.
My neighbour and good friend Bill, looked a bit out of place in his p@#$% so Ian and I converted him. Here Bill receives his new SWK econo Irish National. He may only wear it once a year but a convert is a convert!
Here I present the Rabble Trio in all their glory.
Lastly, it wouldn't be an official gathering of the rabble without a classic pose.
Today is for rest and recovery, it will be a long day tomorrow, toasting, feasting, dancing, singing and general merrymaking.
I wish for you a grand St. Pats, stay safe.
