I was shoving my whole wallet in my sporran at first, but it was way too bulky and heavy (think of the Seinfeld episode where George's wallet is so big, that he sits crooked.) I recently started to just put my ID, an ATM/Credit card (if it isn't maxed out!) and my money, and my sporran is far lighter and less bulky. I honestly don't even know what makes up the bulk of my wallet, since I have a tendency to shove stuff in there and forget about it!
BTW, thanks for that link, phantomws! That moneyclip wallet looks brilliant! We've actually got a Fossil outlet store here in CO, and I think I'll have to check it out next time I'm in their neighborhood. It is kind of a pain to dig around my sporran for loose bills and change.

For those that are thinking of using a money clip and their wives are thinking this is a good little gift idea. Make sure you remind your partner that you would likely also have a bank card or credit card so magnetic closure money clips are useless.

You might also ask for the clip to be full....

For those of us who occasionally wear the military horsehair sporran, in which the pouch is too small, a pouch wallet comes in handy. They come in medium and large. Mine has no compartments, though. But, I bet a sporran maker could design and make one for you.

For use in my sporran, I take my driver's license, credit card, debit card, AARP and AAA card and bind them together with one of my wifes elastic hair ties. My cash goes between the cards. It makes a nice tight package in the sporran.

I've actually fit an entire candy bag (smuggling into the movie theatre), the smaller ones mind you, and my cell phone. What was funny was that it was so heavy and I didn't have my belt on properly, it fell right off. Luckily, no one saw it...or did they:crap:
BTW, I did have it back on and it worked.
