16 oz wool...solid Color
ok, I just registered today...I'm going to be attempting my first kilt but I am having trouble locating the fabric I want to use.
I plan on using 16oz wool (traditional weight and fabric) but in either a dark beige or olive green
I'm in NY close to NYC, can anyone recommend a site or shop that would have the fabric I"m looking for?

Welcome to the site! The thread with all the details for the parade is under "Kilt Nights." Hope you can make it.
As for fabrics, your best bet is Patterson Silks on W 72nd St. (off B'way) or try haunting the fabric stores on 37th, 38th, and 39th streets between 7th and 8th. You might find something there.
Piper's Kilt in Kearny could probably order Scottish wool for you, but it'd be real expensive to import!

I don't know where you might find the fabric you are looking for, but I do want to add my welcome to our little community.

neighbor! I'm really happy that your lady and your son will be there! especially if the lad is kilted!
You're welcome to join us for lunch, just let me know. If not, just as a reminder, we're meeting up about 1:30 at the SE corner of the Avenue of the Americas and 49th Street.
Look forward to meeting.
