    I agree. Oatmeal or a smoky grey will go with any kilt/shirt combo. If those colours appeal to you, contact Freedom Kilts about their "Heritage Hose". They are great quality at a reasonable price.

    I like to wear either Lovat Blue or my Lovat Green hose with my Black Watch to tone down the darker colors of the kilt.

    Frankly, I think you could get away with almost anything with a black watch. Save maybe something like red or bright blue. And even then, if they toned with your shirt, I think you'd be fine.

    Okay. Maybe not the red ones.

    Hey, I was gonna say Blood Red for all they've spilled and to look similar to the original red and white hose they wore with it in the old days.

    Red works....really....if the ghost of my grandfather Murdoch woulda let me buy a Black Watch kilt I'd prove it to you....maybe wrap a red t-shirt around your leg and see if it doesn't work...kind of...sort of...a little bit.

    I prefer black or bottle green socks but I like red flashes for the blood symbolism and the fact that that they stand out nicely against the dark socks.
