Oor Wullie - that name's a blast from the past!
Part of what drove me to go kilted was the idea of renewing our vows, too. I'd always wanted to get married in a kilt but circumstances didn't allow it. Like you, I found XMTS and things kind of snowballed from there. So now, 6 weeks or so after buying my 'first and only' kilt, my second is on its merry way to me (both Stillwaters, one a Nightstalker, the new one a Black Shadow). So although my own experience lies with Stillwater and nobody else, I'd say that you really can't find a better 'first' kilt or kilted experience for that matter.
I'm sure you'll have already seen from the threads posted here that Jerry's service is second-to-none and it's unlikely that you'll find a better kilt for the price. Once you start your addiction (and you will), there's plenty of advice to be had in here on the other options and kilts (and makers) available to you. You're also going to need a sporran and hose at the very least.
In the meantime, Good Luck, congratulations on your forthcoming Renewals and of course
