I finally did the Clan website
I'm active with two clans, the MacNaughtons and the Halls. Actually, Halls are a border family, but details, details.
I've been putting off building the site forever, it's been months that there's' been a skeleton site but, but I finally "kind of" completed it. There's still another page to go, and now that it's there I hope clan members will send in content now and then.
You can check it out here: http://www.clanhallsociety.org
It's a bit text-heavy, but then I wanted to make it quick to download so there aren't a lot of fancy graphical elements.
comments invited.....and yes I know the search function doesn't work. I'm gonna blitz it, next time I edit the files.

You should pull out all of that inline css and put it in the external file you're calling - that'll save some server overhead for ya....

Yes, that's a time-saver too viewing the page, not to mention easier to manage for the next person who comes after you.
Opinion: Speaking as a person who has designed websites for years, I would change the color of the menu items on the left and the footer. I see them as a bit difficult to read with the green background and some folks don't want to have to mouse_over all of them just to see if they want to click any of them. Perhaps #004162 for the menu item text?
Other than that, it looks terrific as is, good job
p.s. If you want to make a more detailed tartan for your banner, there is the Interactive Weaver, and there may be others.

My first observation is who does the Arms & Crest belong and are they the arms of the Chief?

It's a good web site, but like Sketraw I'm curious about the arms and crest. I will PM you with my observations.

Here is a info link on the Hall's, which may answer some of the questions.
