Looks really sharp. I have to admit, the whole idea of tweed kilts is growing on me.

My fingers are starting to get itchy on the "order" button!

The stuff from House of Bruar is lovely, especially if you complete the "country gent" look with the check shirt, vest and jacket to match.

Actually Trefor, you are correct - in one respect: The 'Windowpane' tweed, as elegantly worn here by Bob, IS the only kilt The House of Bruar sells 'off the peg'. However, they will make a kilt to special order in any of their range of tweeds. These are what they offer:

I now have two of their beautiful tweed kilts: the Windowpane was off-the-peg three years ago, and the Erskine was a special order last November.
Take care,
Ham.

Congratulations on your 'House of Bruar', Bob - it looks marvellous and you wear it well. I am glad you asked me about their kilts before ordering for yourself, and am delighted you are so pleased with the result.
The hose are most impressive and I must congratulate you on those too.
Finally, I have to agree with your comments, and those of others, about the quality of the 'www.leathersporran.co.uk' sporrans. I have two of them and have but one negative comment - I dislike the fact that they provide no alternative to the D-rings and clips method of attaching the strap!
Take care,
Ham.

Thanks, Hamish!
Hello, all.
This purchase was triggered by Hamish' report and pictures on his gallery, and I'm glad we discussed it a bit before I purchased. It's the most expensive kilt I've ordered, and I don't think I'd have done it without the inputs from someone who owns a Bruar kilt already.
Thank you all for the kind comments on the hose. The cuff is from the Knitty pattern published in last winter's issue, and the leg is my own design. A pleasant way to spend cold winter evenings, knitting is.
Take care, and if any of you order a Bruar kilt be sure to post pictures!
