I got a kilt for my wee man...and I must say he looks damn good.

    Then again...he's 3.

We waited a bit and chose a kilt that will grow a bit with him.

http://www.scotlandshop.net has a child's kilt with a bit of elastic in the waist band over the pleats which allows a bit of growth. he's also old enough to fit into wee kilt hose and a child sporran.

I just became kilted a couple months ago in anticipation of a trip to scotland in tow months, where I plan to make a lecture type presentation in front of an international crowd in Edinburgh wearing my family tartan and Argyll. My wife and I just had a son two months ago, and as a gag (she has been giving me grief about my new kilts) I bought a baby kilt in acrylic in Macdonald (my clan is a sept of the Macdonalds and I have their tartan in ancient colors myself) modern tartan off ebay for about $30. She about croaked, but has been a sport and dressed him in it twice so far for the Arizona games and a local games about an hour north of here. Now she thinks it is a hoot, and is looking forward to dressing him in it when we go to Scotland in June. We even bought a onesie off ebay with "Kiss my wee thistle" on it for him. She is so getting into this now. I love it.

We just got a babysportkilt from the kilted nation for my son. He had been wearing a size 5 (he is a size 2). The babysportkilt is a much better fit. It has very few pleats and they are very shallow. But for the price I'd buy another.

That is his size 5. No pictures of the babykilt yet.
