Your thoughts and prayers please
I just found out that my great uncle, who was more like a grandfather to me, died in his sleep last night.
He was a great man. He was a WWII veteran. He lived for several years with the Navajo and learned traditional silver smithing from them. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and uncle. He touched every life he came in contact with.
Please remember him and my family in your thoughts and prayers in the days to come, and if you would, raise a glass tonight in memory of a life well lived.
May his memory be eternal.

I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…
Yes, I have squirrels in my brain…

Thank you for sharing. You and your family will certainly be with me today, I will be privileged to raise a glass this evening in his honour.

Eternal rest grant unto him, and let perpetual light shine upon him.
My prayers are with you and the rest of the family.

Crusty, I may understand, my wife has recently lost her parents. They were closer to me than my own parents.
Be well
