Hi Frank, This makes it more confusing as if, Sir Douglas Basil Hall of Dunglass, 14th Baronet has indeed been approached by Lord Lyon to be Chief of Clan Hall the crest shown on the Hall website is not his.
Hall of Dunglass Crest and Motto is: A Stork sitting on a mound in a watching posture proper. With the Motto - 'Cura Quietem'
The Hall depicted on Alan's Website http://www.clanhallsociety.org is the Crest and Motto of Hall of Cilgwyn, co. Cardigan, Wales and Greville House, co. Middlesex, England.
If indeed Sir Douglas has been approached by the Lord Lyon to be Chief of the name he is not going to be to happy that the Society is showing an English Armigers Crest in a Strap & Buckle.
I would suggest that Alan drops the crest badge from the website for the present until they know if Sir Douglas is going to be Chief/Clan Commander.
