I had no idea when I was new, too. Took a bit, but I figured it out. (Wasn't embarassed or anything, just wanted to find out on my own.) Now I should be getting my first tank in a week or two. I've been jonesing like madman.

Hmmm, I guess the public flogging of a humble gent is not all that satisfying...
As already suggested by Monkey@Arms, newcomers are well advised to check out the FAQ. It is well worth a look!
Look under the Quick Links tab .

No, it's just been a slow few days on the forum. There's a... sluggishness to the flogging funtion.
Maybe next week. BTW, they also have a whole page on VB code over there in the FAQ page. I'm just thankful we don't have to do everything in HTML code.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

Thanks for asking Vafuth...I asked the question myself, but never received an answer, perhaps because I jacked a thread? But now I know.

Lurking is a great way to get an idea of how a certain term is used, along with then doing a quick search for that specific term to see how others are using it in other threads. Zneaky backwards ways of trying to keep yourself from out of the "flogging" line. I failed miserably at it though with my recent stoopid question thread.

Actually the original tanks were developed by the Royal Navy and to this day continue to use nautical terms. Port, starboard, sponson, turret etc... The name 'tank' is shortened from 'water tank' a name given todeflect suspicion from spies. Surprisingly enough the RN continued development of the tank for the an Army that failed to recognize the potential of such a weapon, they still put their faith in cavalry.
So I'm thinking Ron might be correct.
BTW the tartan or the Royal Tank Regiment is Hunting Rose

though the first one doesn't look like Gordon...maybe just a bad photo...
and the second doesn't give a size, at least not that I see... oh well, not like I got the $$ anyway.
