Hi, Christopher.
I, uh, think we should wait before we undertake our outdoor adventures. It's still snowing!!! And if we get 4" down here in the valley there's got to be at least 8" in the mountains. The way the snowpack is piling on this year it'll be a while before we can go too high! Well, now that I think about it, a snowshoe trip would be fun, wouldn't it?
I agree we need another kilt night. I don't think this weekend works... how about next? Oh, if you're into good coffee swing by the Spotted Horse on Saturday morning. They're in Belgrade, on the east side of Broadway, just north of the stop sight at Main. I usually get there by 8:00am on Saturdays. You can park in the Valley Bank lot if there's none on the street.
Any other of you kilt-wearers in the area are welcome to stop in, as well!!! Bart and Suzanne (the proprieters) are quite accustomed to men in kilts by now.

(Looking good, what yarn did you use for the hose? Approximately what guage?)
For the hose I used Cascade 220, a worsted weight wool, knit on 4.25mm needles for about 6-1/2 stitches per inch. The yarn is not ideal for hose, really: it's mutli-ply but still won't be terribly durable. It also loses a lot of elasticity on blocking and now I have to tuck a garter under the cuff. The weight is great for Montana winters, though!!
The cuff is from the winter 2007 issue of Knitty, the Tiorneach pattern, and the leg/foot are pretty conventional and I made it up to fit. Go to www.knitty.com, and look in the archives for the winter 2007 issue.
I'll work on pics of the hose and post them.
