Good point, that very well could be. But then I think it's kind of the opposite for me. I'm a black guy and if I wear the kilt I get a lot of interest and compliments from caucasians. I've gotten a mixed reaction from african- americans though, I think they are mostly just puzzled by the whole thing.

Funny, I frequent a store run by a mostly Indian staff and they love my kilts. Could be an appreciation of the whole unbifurcated garment thing.
