My late husband and I used to square dance quite a bit. Square dancing is, as I understand it, derived from the many of the same base sources, but done to 'American country' music. And it uses a lot of the same ideas and moves - a set of four couples that exchange partners to a specific set of directions, the right and left Grand Chain, etc.
I would love to get back into dancing of either sort. Too bad there is almost always an excess of ladies........
