I've found this is the best way to get rid of odors. Just don't forget and leave it out in the rain.

Skip the Fabreeze...that stuff smells worse than whatever you're trying to eliminate.

Fast trip to the dry cleaners...and tell them what the problem is so they can try to take care of it.

And there was an article here in the Chicago Tribune a while back wherein the costume person at the Lyric Opera stated that they freshened up stinky costumes by shpritzing them with a 50/50 solution of vodka and water...I haven't tried that one but the person quoted said that it works wonders.
