Great seeing you in the Navy kilt. Looks great on you.
The girlfriend is just playfully annoyed, not really serious.
Thanks for the compliment. I love that kilt, it is perfect for any situations where I dont want to be wearing wool, but I would like to still look traditional. I am actually excited about boot camp and I wish I was shipping earlier. I know it wont be a cakewalk but I am up for the challenge.

Thank you for serving our great nation. I hope you find it as rewarding as I did many years ago. I look forward to your posts when the opportunity arises. Boot camp will not be one of them. Shortly after that the world improves as you head off to your specialty school.

BB,
As someone who has survived Navy bootcamp, let me offer you the following advice: It's a game. Play it as such. Do what your DI tells you to do, instantly and without question. Learn the things the DIs are trying to teach you, and know that things will be different after boot camp. It's only a couple of months, and you can do that standing on your head. Keep your mouth shut, your opinions to yourself, and get through it.

Thanks to Berserk and Nighthawk for their recommendations. I've been wearing Timberlands, but would prefer a different style. I'll scrounge around and see what I can find. Thanks again.

That's a really nice look. I like the hybrid look of traditional kilts and modern clothing. Glad to see young guys donning the kilt.
Cheers,

Just love you guys that are regular kilt wearers in the USA, I would love to be in your shoes and kilted

Jimmy, why not be in YOUR shoes and kilted? You are in Scotland, after all! Despite my attraction to kilts, I can't tell you how much it put me off thinking of wearing one in past years after hearing the Scots disparage wearing it.
