I suspect the confusion is that (despite the way its written) it was not O'Neille who was seeking the second opinion, someone (call him "Guy A") asked O'Neille for his opinion (the second opinion) even though it was O'Neille who gave Guy A the original opinion. (At least I think that's right. OK O'Neille, that's two dinners you owe me. )
