Jay,
You are just using this for a gratious shot of your Ferguson Brit sporran!
BAD BAD MAN!
Cheers

I would have politely explained to her, "One of my legs is the same."
Let her ponder that as I stroll away...

I do a demonstration of how I sit, in the documentary in my signature. Sporran, no sporran, either way, the kilt keeps things covered.

...do you blame him? If I had one, I would show it off (gratuitously) every chance I got as well!
So on topic- that's a new one! I've been asked how I keep my legs in such killer shape on various occasions... but that's the only leg question I've ever been asked!

I'm sure I have no idea what you're talking about.
But seriously, that's how I sit in my kilt. I've tried to be more dainty (for lack of a better word) but I've got to face facts. I'm an uncouth lug. I think it looks fine and I'm always very concious about being modestly covered. It's just a good thing my trusty Fergusson Britt Inversnaid sporran is so adept at keeping my apron at bay.

I sit however I want, leg up, whatever. The under apron does it's job well.
I like Ron's response

C'mon guys, what's wrong with the occasional Sharon Stone maneuver?
Be well,

Be well,
My friend Woody's girl does that one often - kilted of course.

I have long legs and when I'm wearing pants I really tend to sprawl out when I sit. However, I think that I look sloppy in a kilt when I have my legs spread wide and my sporran shoved down in the front.
Instead, I sit with my legs together to conserve modesty. To answer the lady's question of how I keep my legs together when I sit, it's easy. I just put one knee next to the other knee. Seems to do the trick. I'm no mechanical engineer or anything, but doesn't really seem that complicated to me.

If you have the DVD of Tunes of Glory, take a look at how the soldiers sit in their kilts, on the special features there is a conversation with Ronald Neame, who says the reason they sit like that is that many of the extras knew how to sit in the kilt, he was saying that all through the shooting there was no danger of answering "the Question." If I could find a photo I'd post it, but I think I'll watch the movie again at any rate.
